Summary[]
Shirayuki confronts Shidan, with Obi standing tense and alert at her back. Shidan tells them that he's been studying the brightly glowing Olin Maris in the cave they've found but hadn't thought it would become a poison to the people of Lilias and didn't plant it there, having discovered it months ago and been dazzled by its luminescence. He implores them to help him keep it a secret despite the poisonings occurring in order to continue his research, but Shirayuki refuses and tells him that if he wants to continue researching the plant he needs to do so in a responsible and dignified manner. Back at the Pharmacy Institute Ryuu is able to mix the cure from the seeds Shirayuki and Obi brought back earlier and someone who causes quite a fuss among the other researchers arrives at the lab he's working in with Suzu and Yuzuri.
Shidan agrees to go back with Shirayuki and Obi and upon arrival at the Institute they are greeted by Garak, and informed the cure is nearly complete and just needs a bit more time before it can be administered. After Obi and Shirayuki are sent to go rest Shirayuki leans against a wall as she starts to show signs of Olin Maris poisoning, but as Obi goes to try to help her she reveals that she noticed Obi showing signs of poisoning even earlier, Obi starts to say he'll go see about fetching them some medicine, but seems to remember that it's not complete as he kneels on the floor beside Shirayuki. Izana approaches them and carries Shirayuki to help, after confirming that Obi can still force himself to walk along with them. The prince confirms that Shirayuki has found the cause and a cure for the poisonings before leaving his little brother's allies in the care of the Institute doctors, and tells Obi he's sending a messenger to Zen to let him know what's happened.
